　　　　In view of the fact that being a pilot in the central region is more important than rural areas and the task of developing distance education is heavy, Henan actively explores new ways to develop modern distance education in line with local conditions. At present, more than 47,000 terminal receiving stations have been built and opened, which are vividly called "through train" to publicize the Party’s principles and policies, "booster" to improve the quality of cadres in rural party member, and "heart-to-heart bridge" to close the relationship between the party and the masses.

The central government’s overall arrangement for the modern distance education of rural party member cadres is: from the second half of 2007 to the end of 2010, it will take three to four years to basically build a modern distance education network system for rural party member cadres throughout the country, complete the task of infrastructure construction, and basically achieve full coverage of sites in towns and villages.

The three provinces that were piloted in advance further consolidated and improved the management and use level of the established sites. Shandong decided to establish a centralized study day system for cadres in rural party member in an all-round way, and started the implementation of the "party member cadres’ modern distance education project to get rich through science and technology"; Hunan carried out the model of distance teaching and the selection of "Yuan Longping Science and Technology Award" to promote the in-depth development of learning and application; Guizhou has made great efforts to build a number of excellent demonstration sites of "village-school combination" and continuously improve the level of distance education in the province.

　　　　Nine provinces and autonomous regions that have expanded the pilot project will speed up the construction progress on the existing basis, realize full site coverage in towns and villages by the end of 2008, and carry out work in improving the mechanism, strengthening management and deep chemical utilization. In accordance with the principle of "integrating resources, co-constructing and sharing", Henan has further explored the methods of joint construction of infrastructure, joint investment of human resources, joint production of teaching materials and courseware, and joint efforts of education and training to further promote modern distance education.

　　　　According to reports, the 19 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps that have started this work will complete the task of infrastructure construction by the end of 2010 and achieve full coverage of sites in towns and villages. The Party branch of Alashan Village, xinyuan county, Xinjiang, organized local herdsmen to watch the technical training materials of "Mujiale" tourism and catering service at the receiving site, which solved their problems of ideological emancipation and technical training difficulties and promoted the development of tourism.
