Mazda 6 discontinued
Mazda announced the discontinuation of its flagship model, the Mazda 6 (Artez), in April this year, marking the end of the model’s 22-year sales history. As the stock of vehicles gradually sold out, the Mazda 6 was removed from the Japanese official website, officially bidding farewell to the market stage. Mazda 6 production is suspended!
After the Mazda 6, the brand launched a new successor, the Mazda EZ-6, which not only took over the banner of the flagship model, but also won wide attention on the international stage with its unique design and cutting-edge technology. The EZ-6 retains Mazda’s classic family characteristics in design, while incorporating modern design concepts, showing both sports and technology. The front end of the vehicle adopts a low-lying shape, with a layered front and a double L-shaped headlamp design, plus a multi-spoke black wheel hub and a rear spoiler, which is sporty. The interior design is also meticulously crafted, combining leather and suede materials. It is equipped with a dual-width steering wheel, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen. The physical buttons are reduced to create a simple and luxurious cockpit environment.
Technically, the EZ-6 has a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon third-generation 8155 chip, which enhances intelligent functions such as multi-region automatic speech recognition, and its automatic driving assistance system has also reached the industry’s advanced level. In terms of power options, the EZ-6 offers two versions, pure electric and extended range, of which the extended version is equipped with a combination of 1.5-liter engine and motor, and the cruising range can reach 1301 kilometers under CLTC conditions; the pure electric version can travel 600 kilometers.
The launch of Mazda’s EZ-6 is a key step in the company’s transition to electrification and an important part of its global market strategy. The model is planned to enter the European market under the name Mazda 6e, and has been scheduled for testing in Germany, with an official launch expected in the autumn. Pre-sales in China are scheduled to start in late September, heralding a new wave of attention for the EZ-6 in China, the world’s leading automotive market.
